T-5 on a 260

We're rebuilding a 260 in our 64 1/2 vert. Question is, will a T-5 work on a 260? I know they make adapter kits for the 289, but what about the 260??

you might have a problem with the adapter plate for the 289/302. it may work with some customizing.

what about the bellhousing from the 289 to the 260, how much different are they?

I believe that all 260's and some early 289s were 5 bolt blocks, and later 289s were 6 bolt blocks. Mustang Depot sells the adapter plates for both 5 and 6 bolt blocks, so you should be able to put a T5 in there. Unfortunately the spacer for the 5 bolt block is about 50 bucks more than the 6 bolt. i dont think its possible to mate a 5 bolt block to a 6 bolt bell though.

the 5 bolt bell will have the narrow trans bolt pattern and would need a differnt adapter plate.
