t-5 question

I have a question about my t-5 before i go and put a new one in it. My t-5 seems like it is forzen in gear it is stuck in third but yet i can move the shifter into other gears but it still wants to go in 3rd. i didnt know if there was something common in these things that break. And would be an easy fix before i put a new trnny in it.

Thanks for the help

Pull it out and send it to a good transmission shop. I had a long time customer of mine rebuild the T-5 in my notch. I had all kinds of problems, but now it is like brand new. The rebuild was a few hundred bucks cheaper than buying one from any supplier. I brought it to him also, I did not bring my car there.

See http://www.ttcautomotive.com/English/onlineorder/product.asp to download a FREE service manual for T5 or Tremec 3550/TKO
You will need the Adobe Acrobat viewer which is also a free download – http://www.adobe.com/products/acrobat/readstep2.html

See http://www.hanlonmotorsports.com/ or http://www.ddperformance.com for parts

A T5 rebuild kit with syncros, bearings and other small parts costs about $160. It does not include any gears or shafts.

http://www.hanlonmotorsports.com/ also has a video on how to rebuild your T5 or Tremec. It costs about $20, and is worth every penny of it.
