T-5 repair question

I have a wc t-5 out of an 88 mustang. The input shaft gear and the gear below it are stripped, meaning there isn't a damn tooth on them. I also have a 4 cyl t-5 out of an 87. The V8 tranny is actually in better condition, it just has the two stripped gears. Anyway my question is will the input shaft and other gear out of the 4 cyl. tranny work in the other one. Oh yeah and I already know about the pilot shaft difference

The 4 cylinder input shaft and cluster gear arer different from the V8 ones. The gear ratios are differernt.

A T5 rebuild kit with syncros, bearings and other small parts costs about $160. It does not include any gears or shafts.
