T-Tops Production Numbers?

Does anyone know where I can get some production numbers on the GT with t-tops. A friend of mine just got an 87 t-tops with 67K original for $3500! That's a steal in my book. Just wondering how many exactly were produced in that model year. I appreciate your help.

I think that they may have lumped the t-tops in with the convertibles in those numbers. Anybody know where I can find just the t-tops numbers?

Quite a few were made that year.

In fact, from 82-87, T-topped cars outnumbered cars with sunroofs.

For 88 the number of t-topped cars was low. I've heard 800 or so made.

There are no accurate numbers available to the general public on the numbers of T-Top cars produced. Trust me - I did the research.

I second aaron11272. I did some extensive research for my 86 T-top Coupe and came up with nothing as legit numbers. There was a t-top registry up at one time but it was shut down for some reason. at the end There were only 13 t-top coupes accounted for from 79-88 and 2 86 coupes, mine and a black v-8 auto. I can say i know of atleast 13-15 87 t-top GT's that i know personally in the area and a couple 88's. and plenty more on the internet.

I have been looking for numbers since I bought my t-top 6 years ago. I have to agree there is no accurate number. I have an 87 GT T-Top and my room mate has an 88 GT T-top.

the new 5.0 mustang mag had someone write in asking if they knew the official t-top numbers and they said that there are no official production numbers on t-top cars, just GT's and lx's, an colors n such.
