t5 and driveshaft angle

I am installing t5 trans and want to be sure once aftermarket crossmember is installed the driveline angle will match the rear differential angle. What is a good reference point to measure this driveline angle? (Obviuosly I can't get 4" gauge on the t5 end yoke). For example, is a carb port on the intake a good one? What angle should be measured there?

Carb port on the intake are often angled, not "parallel with crank" => wouldn't recommend that as a reference surface.

You will have easier access to the blockplate, or maybe the harmonic balancer (depending on type).

Both should be more or less parallell with output T5 yoke, and therefore have the same angle.

If you need a very accurate measurement (within 0,5 degree or less) => remove driveshaft/yoke and measure on extension housing without seal...

What year? T5 works fine in my '66. No adjustments were necessary.

The guy I bought it from said it was ron morris crossmember for 67-8 mustangs. But the crossmember seems strange - e.g. my t5 mounts to it with one bolt, while the crossmember is for two bolts, and the trans seems a bit offset to the right. So I want to check.

Here is my T5 setup

Here is the T5 setup for my '66. The cross member came from Dallas Mustang. The C4 transmission mount bolts right in.

Thanks man but I am looking for how to measure the angle. I cannot see anything new from the picture. The crossmember is different and I also used t5 rubber mount on which the trans sits (so now it is fixed with one bolt, not two). The trans is about 2-3" to the front. No photo sorry

Placing a level on the carb pad is a perfect way to establish the angle. Just make sure the vehicle is level first. I used this as a reference point when I did my V8 Ranger swap. The only intakes I know of that are not angled are Edelbrock's Vic Jr's and the stock Ford 3x2 (390)T-Bird intakes.
