I am going to add a t5 to my 78 mustang. I got one out of a 91 gt. The bellhouse looks to be the short one but I cannot tell. Does anyone know how to tell. I was wondering what clutch cable I should use. are they all the same length for the mustang II or will one off of another car work. E mail me at [email protected] I also have a small amount of parts to trade.

I have a t-5 in mine and I had all kinds of hoops I had to jump to get it done. Yes the t-5 bell housing is shorter and fat. THis is what I did. I use a quicktime bellhouse for a t-5 on a mustang II and yes they make it. Then I used a center force light weight SFI flywheel and clutch set up. I used the 78 mustang II clutch cable, had a custom drive shaft and trans mount made. I think that is it. THe only issue that you might run into depending on the headers you might use would be where the clutch cable attaches. It running really close to the number 7 and 8 header tube. I had some custom bends put in and and it all good now. I also put a 8.8 rear end as well since i was getting a new drive shaft done.
