T5 help

hi i bought a t5 not too long ago and it spins good in every gear except 5th and reverse. the guy i bought it from said those gears stopped spining after he removed the bolt above the back up light sensor and put it back in. does anybody might know what happend or what is causing 5th and reverse not to work??? thanks

That's the problem right there. The bolt above the sensor holds the 5-R shift lever.

You need to pull the trans out, open it up and put the lever back into place while screwing the bolt in.

Easy fix, but not if the trans is already inthe car
