Couple of questions

- what is a good donor car to get a T5 ?
- what are the price ranges?
- how difficult is it to change it ?
- are there any pages around explaining it ?

-A 2.3 powered fox body

-All over, I've never bought one but I've seen everyehre from $150 for a very questionible one and up.

-How good are you at working on cars? It's kinda heavy and your on your back most of the time, but it's not to mentaly taxxing.

-About what? Are you swapping from an auto? in that case yes. Are you simply replacing a damaged T-5? If so you shouldn't need any extra info.

i have a 93 lx, it's a 5 speed (sluggish) and i hear a t5 will do the trick.
I'm ok working on cars, but if anything i have a mechanic neigbor so it's cool

You should already have a T5 in your car, simply replacing it with another wont make a difference unless yours it shot.

Like said before yours is a T-5 anyways.

I wonder if you just need a new clutch or something like that I'm no expert since I'm on my first stick in my life but I would take it to a transession shop and see what they say unless your friend knows standards.

get a t-5 out of a turbo coupe they are stronger and i believe have lower 1st and 2nd ratios. look to spend like 100 to 300 for a used trans as far as swaping it out if you already got a t5 in it the total swap can be accomplished in under in hour depending on mechanical abillity (no offense) but id say anyone could swap one out in a weekend with ease. get yourself a chiltons book or something it explains how to remove / install a trans

ohh i know it's shot for sure, i lost 5th gear and reverse, so i always make sure i have a passanger to help me push

If you are going to buy a different one go to a World Class (WC) T5.

i finally did the tranny, never better! did take like 5 hours though and only cost me 250 at a local JY
