Hy guys any of you who rebuid t5 let me know what you think. I have my old t5 apart and removed the rear section, input shaft and top cover. before I go further, I want to know if I rebuild it is there a way that I cantest the trans out of a vehicle. I sold the fox and am trying to decide if I should sell it as a core or rebuild it and then sell it. Problem is I dont want to sell it as rebuilt unless I can test it first.

Not really. You'll never spin it fast enough to see if it grinds, or in my case with my rebuilds...leaks.

Usually you can visually inspect the gears and blocker rings and see if they are worn, but you can't see INSIDE the synchro sliders to see if those are banged up without taking the mainshaft apart.

If you rebuild it, it still may look good but really no way to test them. My last two rebuilds shifted fine, but had leaks and i had to take the trans out and reseal the input retainer
