I'm just waiting on my flywheel to get here so I can bolt up my t5. In the meanwhile I realized I forgot something, the shift boot. I'm converting from a c4 with center console to the t5 and dont know yet. I'd like to retain the center console (i kinda like it), but I need a shift boot too. What are you guys running?

I found a bunch of 94-04 shift boots on ebay and I like them, but I like the old school 4 speed boots too. If you have a pic of your setup please post it, I'd like to see how you went about it.

BTW, the shifter is a steeda tri-ax, here's some pics.

There's the old cruis-o-matic shifter to the new triax. Man it looks cool, why should I want a boot to cover it up :D

In my '65 with T5 I use the '64.5 Mustang no console bezel and boot. Fits Look-a-like shift handle beautifully. Several very minor differences separate it from the original shifter handle:

a. knob shows T5 shift pattern
b. reverse lockout is decorative and not functional
c. lever sits higher above the floor than the Toploader shifter which practically lies down on the transmission hump.
d. throw is tighter
e. shifts smoother and better than clunky side shift tranny
