T5's created equal?

I know by now that the input shaft and bell housing on the 4-cyl models was different from the V8's. But are all T5 the same physically? Can you take any T5, replace the input shaft and bellhousing and still have it mate to your engine? How bout the world class T5's or the Tremec T45's? Is it possible to replace the input shaft on those? Will an old bellhousing fit on those "newer" transmissions?

I believe it will, 1st and 2nd gear is steeper in the 4cyl trannys, and as noted the input shaft is slightly smaller. The input shaft can be swapped with others or in the case of an 4cyl on a V8 you can simply swap the pilot bearing. world class t5s are ones made in 1986 and higher and they are beefier and stronger then the eariler ones. Cobra trannys have steel bearing retainers so they are a little different too, but all should fit on the same bell housings. The world class T5s have webbing between the bellhousing mounts, the non world class ones dont, thats an easy way to tell.
