Tach Type and Location

No surprise.... I've got the Autometer Sport Comp Tach that was used in the movie Gone in 60 Seconds...

Discontinued in 2002, but I found it new from Jegs.com. 10,000RPM w/ shift light.

Don't mind the dirty interior or lack of door inserts... lol My interior is in a closet right now anyways, took it all back out to do bodywork.

Bought a pipe clamp at the hardware store and cut up an inflatable bike tire tube to place between the clamp and the column to stop it from moving/scratching the column.

Wired through the firewall at the main harness to the coil. Covered the wires in the cabin and under the hood with some 1/2inch black, plastic tubing that you can buy at any automotive store.

Looks good. man that thing is a monster - not going to miss the shift light...

Mounting sounds very familiar. I cut the bottom out of a 3" rubber pipe termination cap from Home Depot. Also had to cut about a half inch of the circumference off too. Used a hose clamp for the business end of things. Think I have $4 into the mounting supplies.

LoL, thanks man...

Yeah, at night time anyone inside the car, or even near it for that matter knows when I need to shift. lol

You're right, I seriously spent under $10 for the install pieces.
