Im thinking of buying a autometer tach for my 5.0. I know in my 01 Cobra I needed a tach adapter to use an aftermarket tachometer, do I need a tach adapter to use a tahometer on the fox? Besides a screaming demon coil im running a stock ignition, I dont know if that matter. Again im new to the fox so any help would be great.

Here's how to wire the tach, or at least what wire connects to what.

• Red = key on power supply

• Black = common chassis ground

• White = dash lighting power

• Green = tachometer signal for standard or electronic ignitions

• Yellow = used only on Internal Coil Magneto tachometers as the signal wire

• Twin Black = (looks like a lamp cord) is used on External Coil Magneto tachometers that use an inductive pick up (#5210)

• Gray = for tachometers that use a Hi/Lo shift light. When grounded, Lo shift light point is active. When ungrounded, Hi shift light point is active.

• Blue = used on Playback tachometers to start recording (see playback tachometer instructions)

Here is the wire you must tap the tachometer into and it's location.

Hope this helps.
