Tailpipe question

I have had dumps on my car since I built it, but I miss the nice smooth ride I got with my last GT with it's tailpipes.

I have a set of factory size tailpipes I picked up for free, I want to put these on. My question is, will they have much impact on power? No speculating, I want to know if there has ever been hard core proof that 2.5" tails made more power than the factory 2.25" tails.

My buddy just put tails on his car and said it feels like it's 20 years newer! Sounds like a good idea to me so I want to do it myself.

i cant see putting a 1/4 different making a huge difference in power not noticealby at least.... i though my car was much more responsive and 20 years newer when i had my turndowns installed and took the tails off

Fox + Dumps = OK
SN95 + Dumps = Vibratons, rattles, smelly interior, etc... all the things which a Fox can get away with because.. well.. it's a FOX!

I have dumps on mine and I don't have any vibs/rattles/smells/etc.. It's just alot louder and feels faster... maybe it's just me hearing it and me thinking it's faster.. none-the-less i like it more

well my dumps are on my 93....but i currently removed my cat back on the 94 waiting for my exhaust kit to go on...to cold to lay on the garage floor...and i start it up and let it run and i think it sounds wicked...and it dosent vibrate with only a o/r h... i cant say while driving it because its snowy and no stangs of mine go anywhere near snow.

Even with tails my resonates inside the car very bad at 2k rpm. Kinda sucks.

well, got the tails put on and OMG! What a difference! I've had vibration problems with this car for a while now and they are GONE! Feels like a new car now and doesn't beat me up anymore. I can actually hear the supercharger now!

yeah my friend had turn downs on his 96 cobra, it was loud as **** and sounded good but you couldnt even talk in the car lol
