tailpipes

Today I saw a Mustang for sale and I stopped to look since I have several friends interested. The car was a 1997 GT and when I got to the back I noticed the tailpipes seemed like 2.5 inch tips, so now i have 2 questions.

1. Are 96-98 GT's equippied with 2.5 inch tailpipes? I know 99-04's have them.

2. Can I snag a pair of tailpipes from a 98-98 GT and use them on my car?

they are 2.25 stock

Are you sure? they really looked bigger that 2.25, especially when I compared them to mine

It probably has an aftermarket catback. Some look almost like stock pipes, only bigger. Dynomax comes to mind.

96-98 tail pipes do look bigger to me too. I've got a few buddys with stock tails and they look bigger than mine maybe it's just the tips.

Well they look stock, and i got under the car and the mufflers are stock (faint ford logo was visible)

and 99+ are 3" tips.....

I thought 99+ COBRAS got the 3 inch tips? My buddies 04 GT measure out at 2.5 stock
