Taking the body off the frame

Chassisworks smassisworks, for less than that price you can get a fully welded PROfile frame with airbag suspension, MII front end, shocks, rack, housing, panhard, airbags, sway bar and 4 bar setup from Art Morrison.

Morrison is the only mfg that I know of that can mandrel bend frames in both directions ala the PROfile framerails. The guy builds drag car chassis, street car chassis, roadrace chassis, show car chassis, shoebox chassis and produces an excellent product. You really need to check out his site.

Here is the $5750 setup I described earlier. My chassis building buddy is a Morrison dealer and might be able to get it shipped to you direct without any shipping charges.

His Max-G setup is the bomb, but a bit more $$$.

Larry... Any chance of you asking your buddy what kind of deal he can get me?? Im lookin for a ladderbar and coil over setup up front. Dont want to get into airbags and stuff like that on the stang.

As long as you're measuring 4 times before you cut anything do it yourself. All you will need is a good level and a good tape measure. Thats all pro shops did to make their jigs.

It will obviously take you longer to finish the job than a shop but what is the fun/point in having a shop do your work.

It never hurts to do extra bracing when you cut the subframes off, its much better to have too much bracing than to find out your stang turned into a wet noodle.

I was wondering though, why not just build the rear portion of the frame? it seems like the front portion is goingto be alot more trouble than its worth being that the inner fenders are all connected up there and I assume you will mostly be replicating the front half. If thats your plan I would suggest just building the rear half and welding it to the front subframes.

How long of a wait is okay? I need to get ahold of him in a couple of days and it may take him a day to get a quote from Morrison. He's a dealer, but he doesn't use much of Morrison's stuff anymore. He mainly builds late model SSO Mustangs and there's very little stuff Morrison sells that he uses anymore that he can't get from somewhere else closer, but tabs and brackets are the most he buys that would be something Morrison would sell. K members and Fab 9 housings are usually what he uses.

Go to the website and get a list of the options you want and the type of frame and email it to me and I'll get the info to him and get back to you when he gets back to me.

Larry... No rush as of right now, this is really depending heavily if I sell my current motor and transmission combo. I will look and write all the stuff down and see where we get and let you know. Hell, Id be stoked on free shipping.

Tim

If it were mine Id get a set of new front frame rails, they are available from any mustang suppier, and then install a Rod and custome Mustang II front end... much much simpler and ALOT cheaper.

what ever became of this project?

Way postponed due to a few other projects :D I really stopped working on that car when I picked up the mach1... Honestly probably wont pick back on on this project for quite a while... once the mach1 is done and sold, I really want to build an old hot rod....The plans are a 29-32 ford truck cab on custom everything else. It will be based off a model A frame.

I will be building a full frame for that one :D Then resting the cab on top and bolting her down. The motor/transmission should be a 12v cummins diesel with a nv4500 5spd transmission. The motor weighs right at 1000lbs so a stock A frame just isnt even going to come close. Sad to say...but im sorta done with mustangs for a while. Time for something new and different. My old coupe sits in pieces not touched in probably 2 years
