Ok so I can't believe how old this car is. I remember when my mom bought it new in 1987. Little things are starting to go. The seatbelt bezels (I think I mean sleeves) are cracking. I see different types of aftermarket ones. Are some better than others? I notice some have more of a shaped top. Is this correct? Mine have broken off and while I know almost every inch of this car I never paid attention to these.

Any hopes of finding NOS ones? I would prefer to not have to dye them at all. Mine are tan, or sandalwood as I think it was called.

Thanks in advance,

Brett

New Old Stock. Basically a leftover unit from the manufacturing run.

Finding NOS covers would beat a feat in itself....let alone finding it in probably the rarest 87-93 Mustang interior color.

If such a thing exists, they are sitting on someone's shelf somewhere waiting for them to decide to put them on Ebay.

Late model Resto has/had reproductions. Quailty was...ok. Your best shot is if they still make them

Thanks. I was referring to the ones at Latmodel resto. I only see them in colors other than tan and I really don't want to dye them. I would rather my upholstery guy cover them in leather or vinyl.

But I see two styles and two styles on eBay (Carpenter, I think). Some go straight up and some curve a little right before the buckle. Any ideas which ones are correct?

That's not my car but this can give you the idea. It is tan. I think from 1984 to 1990 or something like that. I know it was offered before EFI and ended before the last Foxes rolled off the line.

It's only an inch or two. What's the big deal?

I had an 85 ranger with that color interior. The paint was a metallic brown. My buddies came up with lots of creative names for that little truck. Wish i still had it.

My old stock ones are curved. Be careful, the curved ones are side specific. One of the bolt holes is smaller than the other. The smaller hole faces the rubber snubber that makes the sleeve stay in place and not flop around. The snubber is nothing more that a 1/2" wide piece of 5/8" or 3/4" heater hose.

It's similar to tan except the entire dash is "tan". Very rare interior color

It's similar to the rare "all blue dash" and "all red dash" interiors in the later years that lack the black trim on the top part of the dash.
