TAN INTERIOR IN 91 5.0?

k everyone has been saying u cant get tan in a 91 5.0 Its unlikely someone bothered to change over the whole interior and someone said that my car might be a 4 banger from factroy and someone threw in the smallblock. I really really hope not cause then the car is worth nothing. Wat worries me is that the guy i bought it off of had it 4 12 years (never winter driven which was good) but the guy he bought it off of was an ex-cop and did it up a bit and it was slightly built for slalom and he was in a club. is there something obvious i can tell that it was a 4 banger. but i dont have the car its in storage for winter. so if theres anything really obvious someone LET ME KNOW! The car doesnt have power windows or locks..is that a factor between the 2?

it's in the vin. the 8th digit will be an E which signifies it was originally a V8.

i was the one that suggested that it might have been a 4 banger originally. if it was originally a cop car, it will have an ID plate on it somewhere with the special SSP codes. it would also explain if it has the flat 4cyl type seats and the manual windows and locks. however, it was said by Mustang5L5 that tan was not available in ANY mustang starting in 1990, which makes this whole thing even more weird. your car has the big square airbag steering wheel, right? does it have a 140mph speedo and 7000rpm tach? only 5.0s came with them from the factory, 4cyl cars had the 85mph and 6000rpm tach

GET THE VIN NUMBER!!! i still dont understand why you cant, unless your car dosent have a front end it should be on the dash which you can see in the winsheild out side of the car, or if you have a door there should be a sticker on there unless someone took that off, it cant be that hard.. if you cant get the vin, i dont know any other way you can check unless you find some evidence of a conversion, maybe it still has the 4cyl suspension if it was factory 4 banger, check that out..

The vin number should be on the title of your car. I hope you have a title. Take a look at it and count.

jesus im sorry i dont check every single thread, i wasent yelling i just never got the answer on why you couldnt see it, what kind of storage is it in that you cant see it when you want? other then that like re said check the title, if you dont have the title or the car right in front of you i have no idea how you expect to tell if its a factory 4banger or 5.0...

anyway does anybody know where i can get a tan interior for an 87-93 fox. I know some peeps dont like tan but I happen to think it looks alot better than grey. I saw a fox with tan interior and it looked amazing. I am doing the whole interior and I have come up empty handed on ebay and in the stangnet classifieds. I need everything.

Buy the dye from 50resto. If you prep your panels correctly that stuff will stick really really well and you wont have to spend a fortune on new plastics.

That is correct. Every Ford documentation i have read has shown than the last year for Tan was 1989. For 1990 is was dropped and replaced with black interior.

I don't find that too hard to believe...

My 90 GT has a wire harness from a 91.

So far as I know the wiring is all original. If it was swapped the guy did a wiz-bang job.
Everything looks factory.

you might change your mind if you ever saw a very nice car with a clean tan interior. One of the Maximum motorsports cars had a tan interior and I think It looks great. Is the anyway that you might be a pal and try to get me some pics of it?
