They're stacked up in the corner of the garage. I'm really not a fan of draglites but they're pretty nice so I thought I'd set them aside

You must have missed this part. Pulled the motor out and tore it down. Will be building another motor. Wheels are off so I can paint the calipers and have wheel well access for wiring up the car.

You and the poo. What gives. (Haha)

I thought you had another motor on the way? I missed something or misread it. I just want to see this thing rolling on the ground.

It's not on the way just yet. But a stock LS1 wasn't going to cut it, so I'm sorting out a better route. Just going to be slow going for a couple months

Haven't updated for a while. Decided to build the LS6 for the time being. Sold the LS6 intake, picked up a FAST 92 with a nick Williams throttle body. Tick cam package ARP rod bolts. Also snagged a set of 243s going to the machine shop tomorrow.

Shortblock is together, waiting on the top end. Should make pretty respectable numbers.

I thought people tended not to use ARP rod bolts on stock rods? As far as I know, they tend to put enough pressure on the bearing to make it go out of round and then fail. But then again, some people say cucumbers taste better pickled, so who knows. haha.

That's a hot topic but pretty common to do. I tend to agree that it CAN bring them out of round and out of spec. Being a cracked rod, most people say you can't hone them but plenty of people say they take .002 out of them and call it good.
Others run forever without resizing. I think a lot of times people are on the loose side of "in spec" and the clamping force is enough to take them to the tight side of "in spec". I also think it wears bearings prematurely and people just don't mention what they look like a year later when they pull it apart. I haven't installed the rod bolts yet, still having an internal debate.
