Target Department Stores Shuttering Canadian Operations Less Than Two Years In

It boiled down to a giant shipping debacle. They were unable to get enough merch up there to keep the stores full and that killed sales. You can blame Canaduh's border control.

So a multi-billion dollar company fails to plan to enter a new market properly, over estimates their ability to transport goods internationally (which is done successfully by thousands successfully everyday...) as well as over estimating their own internal procedures and somehow it's customs/borders fault? Even with regulations that have been in effect for decades and not 1 quote from target about border/customs issues?

It's not like our government laid out a simple step by step process... http://www.cbsa-asfc.gc.ca/import/guide-eng.html

Or maybe you are mis-quoting empty shelves as somehow Canaduhs fault and not Target's?

https://ca.finance.yahoo.com/news/target-says-supply-chain-reset-191405820.html
"As a first step, all 130 stores are counting their inventory, to help "reset" an overwhelmed supply chain. Most stores have completed that work and are reporting significantly fuller shelves, Schindele said."
"He added that the rapid pace of Target's entry resulted in problems with the set-up of its all-new Canadian technology systems due to hastily made decisions."
"A key issue, distribution center staff had told Reuters, was that shipments of many products coming into warehouses did not match data in Target's computer system. That created a bottleneck as staff scrambled to reconcile differences."
"Schindele said that when the system was first set up, minimum order quantities were not aggregated at the vendor level, as is typically done, but by the distribution centers, which made tracking purchase orders difficult. "If your data integrity isn't good, it's really hard to keep stores in stock," he said."

So, with every analyst, and Target Canada's president (Mark Schindele, quotes above) blaming Target, how did you reach the conclusion it was Canaduhs fault?

Look at the bright side, Dacon. At least it's cold up there, and that's probably soothing on your hurt butt.

THAT being said, instead of blaming the Canadians, I put the blame squarely where it belongs: Target (owned by the French, of course). :D

Fighting ignorance one post at a time. Pointing out the asinine logic in someones post is getting butt hurt? Some great conversation must be had here.

Cold? Where? Where I am? No.

Oh, you must mean how we all live in igloo's. Kind of like how you all marry your cousins? lol. The stereotypes treat us far fairer.

Hey I don't hate I love Canaduh. I think it's awesome how your heads flap around when you talk.

Hey, my cousins are pretty hot, at least. :D The girl ones especially so. :D

Dude, honestly, I like Canada. You guys were good customers for years, and once I figured out how to do business with you, eh, it was pretty easy.

Take it easy, man. It's a fun group here (except Strype, of course). Don't take much we say here seriously. Very few of us TAKE OURSELVES seriously. :)

And Dacon, don't bother fighting ignorance here, eh? It's the intrawebz, dude. We all know more than you, we're all experts at everything, and there's nothing you can tell anyone here that we can't disprove, discredit, or, at least ridicule. Most of us are here for fun, dude. We learn a little, but most of us laugh FAR more than we learn. :D
