OK, so i searched all over and came up with two different answers.

So, here is the issue:

I have a king cobra clutch (blueprinted) new PP, fly, etc..

Some say the throwout bearing should have some preload on the pp fingers. Others say there should be an 1/8th of an inch.

Which do you use??

You actually want a very small gap, so I guess my anwer is in the middle of what you have heard..lol It is hard to do at time unless you adjust the pivot ball, off the top of my head the tip of the pivot ball to the bellhousing flange where the trans bolts is 3.30"..if I remember correctly.

Thanks Rick. My pivot ball was a fixed length. But, i still can adjust the clearance by the adjustable cable at the fork. It will be minor.

Also, why does the ford book tell me to give a light coat of grease to the tb where it contacts the fingers? I have never heard of this??
