I’m new to Mustangs & I’m trying to learn everything I can about them.
I found this picture looking up factory Mustang colors at http://www.svs.com/zim/mustang/colors.html
What’s the story on these rims?
They look staggered, little front / BIG rear.

those rims are from a 68 mustang with the GT package. the rears look like they have been widened about 2".

Thanks rbohm,
So, is this wheel like Fords version of the Rally Wheel?

Thanks, Chris

i have to be a little nit picky here, sorry, those are actually the factory 69 mach 1 wheels. magnum 500's weren't even an option for the 69 mach 1, the standard wheel was the chrome 14" styled steel wheel, sometimes referred to as a GT wheel or a 12 slot wheel. the same style was used in 68 on the GT but they were not available in chrome for 68, standard was the light argent color (silver) and there were 2 options, you could them painted with a reflective paint, still argent colored but they "glowed" at night when light hit them or you could get them painted body color to match the car with the available chrome trims rings around the slots.

for 69 they were standard on the Mach 1 in chrome only and the 69 GT's got them as standard in the argent color with a chrome option.

they were also available on other 68 and 69 fords and mercs following the above guidelines.

there were also 3 available center caps for these wheels as well. the plain center cap like these, the GT cap with the big GT emblem in the center and an extremely rare version for the mercury line that was had a round mercury "god's head" emblem in the center.

there were actually 3 or 4 more versions of the center cap available in australia over the years but you won't find any of them here in the states unless they are also accompanied by the aussie falcon they came on, anyway.

the wheels on the mach in the picture have been widened in the rear but you can get these wheels from various aftermarket places in up to 15x10" versions. original was 14x6 except on the 69 428 cars which got a 14x7 version.
