Well i'm looking at a KB on ebay right now and i'd just like your guys opinion on it and tell me what questions to ask so i get a good used supercharger and not get something old and shot. I asked him how many miles were on it and he said they are unknown because the supercharger came on the car when he bought it. So now i sent him a email about how many miles he has put on it since he bought the car. I also asked him how old approx. it is. It also mounts on the stock lower manifold not the GT-40 intake...

The model number is: TS 1000-5. So which model is the supercharger then? Is it the 1.5 or the 2.2? I know they don't make the 1.5 anymore but this is old so it still could be that 1.5 model.

And he says it has the 7 psi pulley...does that mean he changed the pulley on it? Then what was the original pulley probably?

The setup comes with:
INSTRUCTIONS
7 PSI PULLEY
FMU
SERPENTINE DRIVE BELT
2 A.C. COMPRESSOR BRACKETS
TENSIONER & BRACKET
Supercharger
PROFESIONAL PRODUCTS POLISHED EGR SPACER AND EGR VALVE
BBK 65 MM THROTTLE BODY WITH TP SENSOR AND IAC
C&L COLD AIR ELBOW, 73 MM MASS AIR METER WITH SENSOR AND K&N FILTER

Is there anything missing that you know of?

I know you can't post the link to the ebay auction so if you want to check it out...just go to ebay and type in mustang kenne bell. Thanks.

Heres some pictures....

^^^ To me that just looks like the standard kit Which would be the 1.5 or the 2.2 KB(depending on how old it is becuase they dont make the 1.5 anymore)... How about you?

Get the serial number and call Kenne Bell to determine when it was made and if it's ever been rebuilt.

All 2.2L KBs had/have a bypass valve... Either external or internal. So the supercharger pictured is not a 2.2L. That leaves either the 1.5 or the 1.7 (same blower as the 1.5 with some port modification etc.). The 65mm tb should be a dead giveaway.

If you ever plan to run better heads (I don't see any listed in your sig), a stroker, cam, or the like... I'd pass and wait for a 2.2L.

I also don't see anything to indicate whether that blower is setup for a GT-40 lower intake or the stocker lower intake. Would be good to know if you plan to purchase.

Also... The intake on that thing is garbage. You should be pulling air from outside of the engine bay.

Try to contact caseywan. He just got his 2.2 (sick as hell) and can probably tell you everything you'll ever want to know about Kenne Bell blowers. He has done plenty of research on these things.

Alright thanks alot guys. I really only want the 2.2 because yes i know the others are restrictive and i would also like it to work with the GT-40 intake so i could port it as well and i will be doing a H/C/I setup also. Thanks alot though. I'll pass on this one!
