E cam. It would be pretty much the GT 40 crate motor. OR you could get a custom cam. I've heard good things about FTI. Good luck with your choice.

Forget about the mass air conversion and get the Crower 15511. Powered By Ford sells it for $259. It would also work well with valve springs.

You don't have to convert with those parts. Just use a cam with a wide LSA i.e. 114-115 and a 220@.50 or less duration. The Crower will work as well as a couple Comp Cams. I think they are 264XR and HR. These cams have a .510 lift so not as good for the stock springs. You can also run 24# injectors. Make sure you have an AFPR and reajust your TPS. If you do a search on www.50tech.com on speed density cams you'll find lots of info.

You will not need maf if you use the crower 15511 cam.
SD will work fine with heads cams and intakes Nitrous etc. You just need to be carful which cam you use. The Comp cams NX264hr is a great sd cam so is the crower 15511 there are some others. You need a wide lsa 114-115 lsa is good.

Definatly convert to MAF first, your going to need to do it eventually, and it has alot of advantages. I would suggest doing a spring swap even with the stock cam, one reason the power drops off is the valves start floating at about 5600rpm on the stock cam. I knew a guy with the F cam on stock springs, had valve float at 3500rpm, eventually one of the springs broke and gernaded the engine.

Oh yeah, the original question, what cam. Under $200 your going to settle for a FMS Alphebet cam or a TFS cam. Maby you can find a used one. I got the B cam for $50 and it doesn't run too bad, but not a good daily driver cam.

i would just do a cheap junkyard mass air conversion to get it outta the way then you can open your cam choices up a bit.
