I posted a while back on my engine temp. It was at 230 city and 190 highway. I finally decided to change my 9 year old rad for a fluidyne 2 row and at the same time I put in a stewart high flow water pump. The rad was off so the pump was faily easy to take off.

Anyway, everything is fine, no leaks. But my temp still reaches 230 at a much slower pace though and it cools very fast once i speed up. I know 230 is a bit high but I dont know what else to do to keep it cooler? I migh take my pulleys off and see what happens? Anybody has an idea of why it reaches 230? Also I run at a cool 180 on the highway now.

Thanks

Matt

Try swapping the crank and water pump pulleys. I never had mine run that hot with the underdrives, but yours may not like them. Also, make sure your electric fan is turning on around 212.

What temp thermostat do you have? If it is not stock then your fan is not coming on at the correct time for the thermostat.
