My old 50 oz flexplate was bad and i had to get a new one... ended up getting a 28oz... so would a 50oz harmonic balancer and 28 oz flexplate cause any sort of squealing?? Because that would explain a lot

dude, you cant mix the different weights.. you need to bring everything back to 50oz before you completely destroy the engine.. forget about the crappy 1/4 times and squaling noise.. ull be lucky if the car runs if you drive it much with the current mis-matched combo.

would an unbalanced d/s trash the motor too? I mean it vibrates BAD past like 60-70mph, so i RARELY take it past that. I dunno Ive just been nervous about it, trying to get some cash for an aluminum.

An unbalanced engine can land up being a pile of junk in just a few miles. My advice is don't even start the car again until it's right. You WILL break the crank. It will destroy the bearings, almost instantly.
I'm having trouble believing this car didn't vibrate itself apart.
If you have a stock crank, you need the 50oz balance on both.

Alliate, if you can't afford the aluminum now, take the driveshaft to a driveshaft shop and have it balanced. Shouldn't be more than $50.

94mph is badddd, either your engine is old and tired, or somethings not running right.

I want to try flipping it 180* first, because it started doing it right after I did my TKO swap, Im just hoping I didnt do any serious damage by driving it like that, the motor runs fine up top.

Yea i agree... the vert was fun... but too slow... my friend had a stock 5 speed hatch... except for flowmasters, and we were dead even... he would actually end up gaining on me a little.. also, since im just selling it i dont wanna go through the hell again changing the flex.. anybody have an idea how much it would cost to get it done in a shop?

Why not convert it to a 5 speed? Fox verts in decent condition are getting tougher to find.

Dont want a vert anymore... the guy who owned it before me took **** care of it.. it was falling apart and trashed when i got it... but that was when i was 17 and just wanted to buy my first mustang that i had been saving for since i was 12... so i saw it and fell in love... been putting countless dollars trying to put it back together i think im ready to let it go and get something nicer
