I was wondering if anyone could tell me the emissions laws in Texas. I am moving there and was wondering if I had to put cats on my car. Thanks

depends what county...mine used to be safety only inspection...now its a friggen dyno load emissions test

I am in NE Texas and the last time I had my car inspected, they talked about how good it sounded and it had no cats on it. I just laughed after they gave me my sticker and I left.

Wichita Falls is not in a emissions county "yet"...it will be eventually. It's either visual or the old emissions test.

Houston, DFW, El Paso...are very very close to CARB standards. Me trailer car now.

IMO its worse than cali...dont they just have to get emissions every other year? we gotta get emissions tested every year

Wocheata Falls country folk could most likely be told you had a extra nice farm tractor and then they would hand you a sticker.

I am from Austin and in the Air Force. I am trying to get a job at Sheppard AFB. I was just wondering cause I am in Idaho right now and you can run straight pipes. The cops here don't care about car its the trucks with 10" lift and 48" tires with no mud flaps they worry about. But anyway now that I am done rambling on. Thanks for the info.
