Every mustang I've had has had the same problem with the TFI going bad. It starts out as the car not wanting to fire when hot, then not starting at all.
I have a 94 Chevy Blazer with a 6.5 Turbo Diesel. The electronic PMD is mounted on the engine and fails due to heat. I relocated the PMD to behind the front skid plate. I have no driveability issues and the trucks runs as good as it ever has.
I was thinking about doing the same thing with the TFI module. Extending the wires and mounting the TFI on a heat sink away from the motor. Does this sound like a good idea?
