wondering, noticed on Trickflows site that the Stage 1 cam should be used with a CR of 9:1 to 10.5:1.

Im running GT40 heads with have a 64cc so that puts my CR down to 8.8 or so i think. Will this be a problem? would that .2 make that much difference? I made 255/280 at the rear wheels last year on a low compresion motor (95-105psi and almost 20-30% leakdown). Ive got a rebuilt short block on the way, hopeing to gain some of that HP back.

Also, how bad with a stock Converter will this cam be? I think im going to put a AOD out of a 90 5.0 in place of my t5. Probably a shift kit, but no converter, as they get pricey, and it may only be a temp thing.

Also, would retarding the cam help with more low end with the auto since they dont rev as high?

I broke my arm back in Nov. nice plate w/8 pins, pin in my wrist. Severed a nerve and bruised another few. Basically my arm is useless. So shifting is not an option for me this year anyways. I still need more surgury and tests, so its going to be a while, this year at least. You can click the link in my sig to go to my web site, have a few pics of my arm there...

But would retardting the cam help any? Any advice on my other questions?

Good luck on the arm man. I feel for you. Sometimes I think about what if I broke my leg or something worse and I couldn't use the clutch or worse the brake/gas pedals. ARg i don't want to think about....
