Hi everybody. I just wanna say that unfortunately I'm going through a painful divorce, in few words very difficult and depressing for me, and the only thing that makes me happy is my 06 gt. That thing hasn't stopped bringing smile on my face every time I drive it. Anyway, a question for all of you stang enthusiasts: is 12-13 mpg what I'm getting normal? It's mostly city driving but I thought they were around 17 in city.

yeah, that's normal....

If you drive it like it's an indy car! lol. No that doesn't seem normal unless you're really ripping on it constantly. even as much as I let into it, I still average 15-17 in the city.

You're good - any more than that, and you are in the wrong vehicle. Think of it as a fitting mechanism - "hmmmm...looks like you're getting very high mileage around town in your GT - maybe we should look at getting you into a V6...".

Yes, I'm joking. No, my city mpg is not any better than yours (18 mpg average, with a lot of freeway driving). So, we're both enjoying our cars in the manner in which they were meant to be enjoyed!

I have a V-6 and get 14 to 15 in the city. On the road I have gotten up to 27. What you are getting is in the average range.
Some of the mileage posted elsewhere is a little too good to believe.

You guys that are getting low mpg.... do you have an intake and or tune? that might be making the difference here. If so, that's a pretty sensational difference.

I guess I need to think about trading in my GT on a V-6. I'm consistently getting in the low 20s and it's a daily driver.....

Yeah, you also have a tune and filter. They always tell you that a tune and filter will raise your MPG. I just didn't realize how much. If I could keep my foot out of it, it'd probably do better than my Magnum when it's running on 4 cyl's on the highway.

Those who are getting low gas mileage, get a cai and tune and you'll be good to go.

HTH?!? It doesn't count, if you have AAA tow you around 1/2 the day!!!

I typically get 13-14 average for a tank. When I drive it, I drive it like a V-8 pony car is meant to be driven, with my foot to the floor. I don't really speed (much), but I sure do make the effort to get up to the limit as quickly as possible. On the 1 road trip I've taken so far that was all highway miles, I was around 24-25 IIRC.

BTW, bone stock, 2800 miles on the odo.

I don't know what my city mpg is, but my overall avg mpg is 22.3. It was 23.5 before the 4.10's.
