Some may remember that I just bought a Kenne Bell SuperCharger for my '98 Stang GT vert.

Some may also remember that I commute 150 miles each day.

Some still may also remember that I asked about a "daily driver" so I can put the pony in the garage except for the weekends.

Most suggested a Mazda 6.

Well here she is guys... my brand new Mazda 6 for daily driving to take the load off my cherished Mustang.

She's a baseline model so after a couple options and tax and all that other crap, I'm looking at $27K. In the next week, I'll be having a spoiler put on her and tinting and Xenon headlights but for the most part... she's my daily ride. She's "Redfire" color which Mustangs also have that is a metalic paint job. I like her...

What do you think?

And you know... Mazda is tied to Ford.

Hey, that's a pretty darn nice daily driver! What's the gas mileage expected to be on that car on the freeway?

Man my wife and I must be the best (or worst I guess..) consumers ever. When we decided we needed a second (well third, counting the '68 as a weekender) car for her to drive and to complement the '02 GT, we looked right past all the less expensive options and chose a 2005 350z...

Methinks it would've been smarter to go for a car like the Mazda 6. :)

My mom has a mazda tribute for a daily driver and that thing is really nice as well....never had a problem with in in the last 5 yrs and its been great in the snow during the winters here....a mazda will probably be my next car when the GT is paid off but im not spending 27k:D

Whats with the rims those stock?

Yeah, the wheels will be replaced at some point (they are kind of gay). It's not important right now.

She drives nice and now I can start tearing down the GT's motor for the kick ass KB SC I just bought. This is the most expensive mod yet... $5600 for a KB 9psi/IC kit and a $27K car to take the load off my pony.

I have all sorts of premium coverage on her. Free oil changes for life since I do so many miles each day.

I'm still a ponyman... but I can see why people like these cars. It drives real well.

I'm expecting close to 40mpg on the freeway for my daily commute. If I get 35 I'll be real happy cause right now I get about 26mpg on my mustang for highway. I think the gas savings will pay for half my payment. I spend $110 a week on gas for the pony right now.

And the biggest thing is... I work downtown Denver so 4 out of 5 days I sit in traffic that inches along. This is an automatic where my GT is a manual. And this is a front wheel drive which will be nice for the snow, come winter.

Now I can put in the SuperCharger on my pony and do some other stuff to rage hell on the weekend cars. I already have a rep in my town for a fine pony, now it will be better and not getting all those miles.

:SNSign:

Not to be an ass but how did you spend $27K on a base model 6? I had a 2003 and i was at like $24,700 or something like that and it was a v6 with the sport package, 5spd, 17s, leather, sunroof all that good stuff. Just curious thats all.

Well, it listed at 21,800 but I put on some extras that need to be installed, I bought all the "protection" insurance cause I'm a single income family and all the tax, destination, Auto tranny, some sort of sport shifter, no money down and what not, it's financed at right at $27K.

I looked at the sport models and they were in the $30s. Whatever the price, I'm happy.

Nice car bro...:nice:

The wife and I are talking about getting a gas saver car also and drive the Stang on weekends. Damn gas prices are crazy stupid.

Hell I would drive a clean Pinto if I could find one.....lol
I spend 50-60 bucks a week on gas for the Mustang....I get pissed just thinking about it, when I started driving gas was .86 a gallon. And Im not that old.

I'm gonna have to see it in person.... how many 12 packs does it hold? Can it hold a keg? How many positions can you accomplish in the back or front seat? Does your GF like it? (the car, not the ammount of positions)

um oh, kick ass man! I still need to get a beater one of these days.
