Well yesterday nite i was puttin on my lower intake onto my brand new shiny Trickflow heads. All the bolts went on nicely as i snugged them down to 22lbs of torque. The VERY LAST bolt popped right up as i was torquing it down and i pulled it out along with the threads. Needless to say i cursed out a storm as i realized i stripped the threads on my new heads. I was resigned i would have to take the lower off and helicoil it. But thanks to you guys i did a search on here and someone has suggested on another thread to clean up the thread and try a longer bolt since there may be enough thread left to grab on. Well i did and IT WORKED !!!!!!!!!!

Saved me alot of work, Thanks guys

PS....on another note, i learned 18 lbs on teh lower will suffice on aluminum heads as goin over 20lbs has stripped the threads on many heads according to the search i did.

Also check the amount the stripped threads that came out with your bolts. Found out the hard way Edelbrock heads with stock bolts only give about three threads to torque onto... Very bad.

Hope you decide to remove the other short bolts and replace them all with longer grade eight hardware.

Actually the stock bolts on TW heads grab onto a lot of thread, i think about 6 or so. The others reached the torque value fine.
