The 2007 Official College Football Thread

wisconsin proved today they were a joke. illinois is better than usual, but still a ron zook coached team, and still a mostly joke. penn state is an ok team, i'll give them that. UM on the other hand, is still a joke in my book. sure, they played ok the past few games, but those first two were evidence, and the last few were against not too tough of games. didnt prove much.

i guess my point i'm trying to make is to see someone like OSU as #1, when the only reason UF, LSU, UK, USCe, and others like that have losses is cause we HAVE to beat each other up in the toughest conference ever. and it just bugs me that osu could get the trip to the game so easily compared to an sec schedule.

I think you SEC guys are severely over estimating the strength of the SEC conference. Normally I would agree with you that the SEC is better, but this year I really dont think it is. I think the Pac 10 is just as good if not better. The Big 10 is definatly down this year but we will see.

The title picture is wide open this year and whoever makes it to the BCS game deserves it whether it be an SEC team or not, even if you feel they dont.

the problem with ND not wanting to split the bowl game money is they have to make it to a bowl game :nice:

They have been to two straight BCS bowl games, Id say that is making it to bowl games wouldnt you? Now obviously not this year, but still.

i really dont find the sec that over rated. i mean, you've got lsu, uf, usce, kentucky, tennessee, auburn, georgia, and alabama. all of those teams are NOT joke teams, they play hard, and seem to pull wins a lot. the main reason i rate the sec as highly as i do is because if you play in the sec, it's a given you're going to come out with some losses. no team in the country could make it through an sec schedule without a loss. but i guarantee you a lot of teams could make it through a LOT of other schedules without a loss.

but what it comes down to, as usual, is opinion. of course mine is somewhat biased, but the facts are also there, and when you see the games come down to the last minute (or into overtime, or even triple overtime) you know that those teams are good out there, and you're in your seat till the last minute most games.

and with the notre dame thing.... yeah, they have, but the point i was making was on this year, not the past. it was only intended as a joke, lol, not being serious

I bet you south florida will go undefeated. They have 3 "good" teams left to play (louisville, rutgers, cincy), only Cincy is even ranked anymore and they lost to louisville this week. I really question if any of them have the mustard to beat south florida, but stranger things have happened this season.

i am so hoping we win out, and UT loses, that will put us for a rematch against LSU on a neutral field. i think that's why lsu fans want UK to win so bad, they're worried bout that sec game if we're in it....
Don't think for one minute that will make a difference. I look for history to repeat itself.

Final in the SECCG...

LSU 34 Georgia 13

:D

yup, history with a crappy uga team, so be it. this year, you're playing florida, who almost beat you on your turf, is getting better every game, and without 2 stupid turnovers, WOULD have beat you.....

i have a feeling on fair ground, and 2 months from now, UF would win it.... but only time will tell!
