The car is finally in the body shop!

My car has 550 lb 1" drop springs in front and the Grab-A-Trak 4.5 leaf mid-eyes in back. It rides perfect except the back fenders come down and rub on the back tires when I hit dips. I have the GR2 shocks all the way around, so I might have to try some Gas-Adjusts or something stiffer out back. My back tires are 245/45/17s and I already have 4 of those tires brand new, so new tire size is out of the question right now. I'm hoping new shocks will work until I can switch tire brands and get a slightly narrower tire on back and slightly wider on front.

I have those same springs on the front, but stock on the back. I have those same size tires on the back of my car on 9" rims...i cant recall the size on the front, but they are on 7" rims. Anyway, as i mentioned I hope the front of my car squats a little more after some drive time.

Here are a couple or reasons why I like green on classic Mustangs. I really think the dark ivy green coupes look great with black vinyl tops.

That was a real shame they did that to a Mustang. I hope whoever has that car now put a Ford engine back in it.

The green does look nice, just not the look im going for. And as far as the tokyo drift movie goes, they had that one car with the nissan motor in it for show only, the real car used in the driving scenes had a 500 horse good ol american v8 in it, google it, it's an interesting read. Anyway he is chopping away at the fiberglass pieces, hopes to get some black sprayed on the car by the end of next week....we'll see!

Yes it was....there are some new pics on facebook, I will add some of them to flickr tomorrow for you folks without facebook. For those of you on fb, give my man Doug some words of encouragement, he's doing a good job.
That picture of the shelby coupe tribute made me wonder if there were ever any ACTUAL shelby coupes built, turns out there was one built (or two) for Shelby de mexico in 1967...there are like 2 pictures of it floating around the google world. Anyway, I thought that was interesting. Some folks want to split hairs and say "well it never got the build code for shelby, blah blah blah....anyway, interesting none the less.

Pardon me....seems that green one was an actual 68 shelby Prototype....anyway, sharp car. good to know I can back up my coupe-shelby semi tribute with a little factual info, lol. The way I feel about cars is if you are going to go original, go all out, but if you are going to change one little thing, might as well change anything you want, but thats just me. Have a good night

New pics added to facebook, he has been doing some fitting on the shelby-style decklid and quarter extensions, those things were complete crap...but that's no different than what I have read from others concerning those pieces, but my man Doug got them to look a whole lot better, anyway, if you have facebook, take a look...

Well, there are a few of those spots so I'll elaborate on all of them, lol. In front of the rear wheel well he cut out a spot that was rusted and is just going to build a new patch from scratch. On the backside he put in that new patch panel but it fit like crap so he tried to blend it into the original wheel well and it just didnt turn out how he wanted, so he ordered a new patch panel and is going to either replace the whole thing or use what of it he needs to fix the old one. Had I known that side was that bad originally we would have just replaced the whole quarter panel.

Just giving a bump, there are some new pics on facebook, it has been a week since he posted any new ones and he has posted some yesterday and will post more today. He has started blocking the car, and is fitting the fiberglass hood. He says he's still on track to get some black laid down this weekend.

Ok, its been forever since I posted, but finally some headway has been made. All of the body work is done, the 3rd and hopefully final block coat has been applied and hopefully next week we can finally get some PPG black laid down on this car! I have decided to do the GT stripe in a decal instead of painting it on....I cant make up my mind if i wanted Gray, or Silver, or Red, or Hertz Gold, or White....so this way I can have whatever I want with the ability to change it later, I can also get creative with my lettering where a stripe would normally say GT350, I didnt want to put that on my coupe, If the DMV will let me get my license plate (XR8ED) then I might put that on the stripe, who knows.....X-Rated cuz the car is going to be really sexy.
