The car is finally in the body shop!

The body man quoted me a bargain...He was laid off of from his normal job and hadn't done body work since the 90's and he quoted me a 90's price of 3000-3500 dollars, and I asked him last week and he said we are still on the mark! That included paint and materials. I bought the hood, fenders, patch panels, trunk, extensions, gaskets, and bumpers for around 1800 or so....so the whole body is going to cost around 5000, which is a bargain, especially for the quality job this guy is doing me. I am fully capable of doing this myself, I did all the work on that blue camaro on my flickr, but i really REALLY dont like doing body work, its worth 3500 for someone else to do it!

Yea I think you got a good deal.

If I could get a deal like that I`d probably take it too.

I`m trying to do alot of this myself, but the learning curve is a killer, I can mess up stuff faster then I can fix it so far.

I google mapped ya to see where Mulberry is....too far from Ruston, LA where my body man is, but no body shop around would touch my car because it wasn't an insurance job, so I put a pic of my car in an ad on craigslist and got 7 replies from retired/ part time body men, got lots of pics and refrences on this guy and went with him, you might want to give that a try.
