Well today was one of the first warm, pretty days we've had since winter so I decided to wash and wax the car. I tried to do it yesterday but the MINUTE I got done washing the car it started raining so I had to restart the process today.
I used Meguier's car wash (with extra foaming action!), Meg's Step 1 cleaner wax, and then Meg's NXT. NXT really is a great wax, but it better be for $15 a bottle.
Anyway, the point of the thread: as you can tell by the products I used, I went over the car pretty much inch by inch 3 seperate times. When you own a 1994 vehicle that hasn't been garage kept its whole life, washing and waxing the car can be a depressing process! You get to see every last flaw in your paint...every scratch, every ding, every dent, etc. I'm sure most of the flaws aren't that noticeable to other people, and I'm just being overly critical since she's my baby and I see her every day, but every time I wax the car it makes me want a new paint job. Not that mine's even that bad--could be a lot worse on a 10 year old vehicle--it's just that I want her to be perfect and waxing the car is like going over it with a fine-tooth comb and I see every flaw. Seems like every time I wash and wax her, she has a new chip or ding that I didn't see the time before.
Oh well. At least I don't have rust or any major dings. The 99+ guys probably can't relate to what I'm saying as much, since their cars are newer and their paint is probably in better condition for the most part. But I was hoping some of you can relate to what I'm saying....
I need a beer now. Going back outside to install my new 65mm throttle body.

I do need a new paint job. Some places it looks great, but mostly its oxidizing. I'm waiting for the time to go through it and polish it for a better look as the paint job is at the bottom of the list.
