Ok, FAST forward a bit. I've been slacking on the updates. I completed all the body work this week while on vacation. This includes: Both rear quarter lower sections, both door skin's, new front fenders, custom side scoops, custom extended headlight buckets and a fabricated lower grill panel along with a new grill.

HID headlights, SSBC brake upgrades AND IT RUNS AND DRIVES WHOOO HOOO!!!! I took it for her first spin today, FREAKIN AWSOME!!! It's got more power, better steeering, big brake upgrades and corners fantastic with the new suspension. It drives completely different!!!

woah . . . what happened to the blue?

it does like a lot more like a track car with flat black though.

I inhaled most of it, some landed on the floor, the rest is stuck to the sides of washing machine.

She's going into the booth in a couple of weeks for gunmetal paint with a single black stripe with 1 small strip on each side.

Any suggestions on the grill material? I wasnt in love with it, but I needed to put something there to get an idea. I'm not 100% sold on the billet style, dont like the originals...not sure what to do.

I may try jst painting that flat black, it may look good once the car shiny gunmetal

+1 on the radiator deminsions. Were you able to cure the close clearance with brackets or is it just a tall radiator?

is that a steeda triax shifter? if so, how's the reach for you. I am getting ready to swap in a t5 in my 68 and need advice on a shifter. I like the look of that and of the hurst arms, but dont know what would be the best fit...

Nice looking project. Did you shave the drip rails? Also what kind of distributor did you go with?

I like that idea... intuitive. Does the filter cover just slid on? How is it secured?

The radiator could not be 1/4" taller or wider. I drilled new holes through the rad support to mount it. I couldn't use the stock locations to mount additional brackets as it would have pushed the radiator back to close to the water pump to fit a 16 fan.

The shifter is a Tri-Ax. I have long arms, but also long legs. With the seat all the way back I dont have to lean at all to reach it. I would love to have it back another 2", but I'm verry happy where it sits now. Also looks good IMO and allows or shorter throw ten the Hurst.

The blower motor cover was trimmed using a pair of metal sheers and I used back sealent to mount it. Just loaded it up and squished it on. I setup a bracket to hold it while it cured. I can knock it off with a hammer if I need to get the heater box out and for $10 I wont mind damaging it.

Sorry Lord Cobra, I missed your questions.

I didnt shave the drip rails, I'm going to put back on alot of the factory chrome once is painted.

The dist is a Pro Comp. Its cheap, but it does the trick.
