As I posted a while back I am the new owner of a 1986 gt. The car is all stock and I bought it to replace my project 85 gt that due to rust issues I have decided it is better to either sell or use it for parts. Anyway I have done my homework when it comes to the 79-93 Mustangs over the last few years and want to build a nice 5.0 over the next few years. I realize the 86 has it's issues and perhaps a mass air newer aero style might be a little better as a platform I am partial to the 85-86 bodystyle and since I now have both year of cars I will use the 86. I just want to add basis bolt on equipment to improve power and handling and I guess braking and also upgrade it with other ford parts to both save money and learn all I can about these cars and ways to improve them. The purpose of this thread was to ask for any advice about upgrading this car or if anyone had performance parts that they want to get rid of that would work on my car(and save me money) I will be looking in the very near future.

ditch the heads e-6s suck and either go carb or mass air f/i do that first other wise bolt ons are a waste of time, and then suspension suspension suspension makes all the differance in the world and is often over looked, chassis braces are mandatory, and many of us have coil overs and they are awesome, well worth the money maximum motorsports is the best place for suspension parts. welcome to stangnet and lets see some pics!!!
