I swear it never fails. The minute I decide to drive my wife's 4Runner somewhere its like National Drive Your Hot Rod Day.

My DD is a Mustang GT....so i never have those stories

But just last week i was driving down the road during lunch break at work. I was in traffic on a single lane road..prob 3rd in a line of 5 cars doing 30MPH in a 35. I was in 2nd gear listening to the exhaust when some old lady sweeping leaves starts waving her rake at me to slow down. I'm giving her the WTF look and check my speedo and notice the cars in front and behind me are doing the same pace.

So on the way back 10 mins later, i'm doing 35 and she stares me down and still screams at me. I'm in 3rd gear following another car not even speeding because i had my lunch with me and holding a drink in my right hand as i drove.

But the way she was acting you would think i just did a donut in front of her and took off at 75MPH+

This is the car gods attempt to keep us alive and safe so that we may continue to enjoy our cars. Half of us would probably be dead or in jail right now if we found a race every time we went looking for one in our stangs. I do hate it when that happens though. So annoying.

Drives me nuts, too. I don't know how many times I've had old people and stupid individuals scream at me to "slow down" when I'm only in first or second gear and not even touching the throttle (just letting it wind down as I come to a stop or approach a turn or something). It was especially annoying when the temporary park manager (AKA Park Nazi) would try to complain to me that I was going too fast in my notch; the park limit is 10mph, so I'd just put it in 1st gear and (with 4.10's) I was doing exactly 10mph but at something like 2,500 RPM so it SOUNDED like I was moving along pretty fast. I had to explain to her (at length) that just because it SOUNDS like someone is going fast doesn't mean they ARE going fast, because if RPM's are always an indication of speed, than the freakin' trash truck must be racing around the place like it's the Indy 500.

People that believe high RPM's = high speed need to be educated ... or slapped ... or both. This is why so many kids in Hondas and such with fart cans on the back like to cruise around in 3rd gear all of the time.

However, since obtaining the GT I'm running now with an AOD and Dynomax Super Turbos, the RPM's tend to stay down and the mufflers are almost stock-quiet, so hardly anyone so much as raises an eyebrow.

I have a Notch in my garage that I can't drive. (nail in tire that I'm too poor to fix)

I have a Capri in my garage that I can't drive. (leaking coolant)

I'm stuck driving my '04 V6 Stang.

It sucks.

I hate stuff like that. I was with a buddy in his worked LX 5-speed(e-cam,longtubes,eddyinatake etc.) And we pulled into school and the speed limit on campus is 10-15well were doing 15 in 1st and head towards the parking lot behind the school to park.Well as we pass by the office the principle RUNS towards the car.So we slow down to see what she wants. She comes to the window and starts yelling"just because you have a mustang doesn't mean you can race throught my parking lot!"we told her loud doen't equal fast and that we were going the speed limit. She then said "well i better not catch you speeding in my parking lot ever" and she walks off.We just kinda looked laughed about it walking into school.

Well, my Stang was in the shop for the past few days getting a new clutch put it, and poor me...I had to drive my mom's 2007 Infiniti G35 sedan. Yes, the one with 306HP and a 7500 redline. I'm so unfortunate...but I just got my car back and it's awsome, a new clutch makes a huge difference.
