well have to wait and see, but i dont think, in the end, that utah will have beaten more teams that END ranked than UF.

if UF wins, they will have ou, bama, and uga, at least, since those 3 are all already in the top 25 bcs, and wont drop out. then, likely, fsu will be back in at the bottom, and there's a chance some others might as well.

utah right now has bama, tcu, and byu ranked in bcs. byu could drop, but oregon state could move up, even though their win was pretty pathetic....

beating "the only team to beat usc" is meaningless. that's like saying that wake forrest beat the only team that beat florida. stupid statement for sure. also, if you're saying that the best team in college football doesnt lose to an unranked team at home, keep in mind it was by 1 point, and that that team ended very well, and is ranked now, and will be higher after the last polls. i am not saying we should have lost that game, but we certainly played the rest of the year as a different team than the one that lost to ole miss.

i agree that texas got the shaft, but that just proves how stupid the system is. i agree that utah had an amazing season, and nobody can take that away from them. their reward is the sugar bowl win. they didnt do enough in the voters eyes to move them up, mostly due to their conference, and that sucks for them, but until they do enough, they cant legitimately claim a part of the NC, IMO.

ok, done with that rant, but all that matters is what happens on january 8th. i cant wait till thursday!

Well, just a little more than 4 hours till my Buckeyes take the field. I don't know what to think. I hope that 5 weeks of practice will let TP come out and pass the ball better than we've seen all year. We know he can run with it already. Beanie should be as healthy as he's been since the 1st week of the season. But on top of all of that, it is still a team who feels like they should be playing for a national title against a top 10 team. That fact doesn't bode well for OSU. I just hope that it's a close game and we play respectably.

i have mixed feelings on the game tonight. i want texas to win due to them being shafted, and cause i dont like the big 10. i want osu to win cause it gives more pointing fingers at the big 12 not being as hot as it is talked (till it happens, they are though).

i can see osu winning due to the same thing that happened to bama. the "bama wanted to play in the NC, utah wanted to play in the sugar bowl" argument. if that applies, texas could go down. but i could also see it as texas taking out revenge for being left out, and beating the pulp out of osu.

either way, i'll be watching, and i hope it's a good game! but WOW thursday can NOT come fast enough!

bout the best outcome i could hope for! osu loses, but texas looks horrible for the big 12 in the process! both teams looked very pathetic, and osu lost. i'm happy, lol.

that just gives more hope to the game for UF on thursday!

Go Oklahoma!!!!!

Tressel needs to man up, hire a real offensive co-ordinator, and let him call the plays. Down by 3 and only needing 25 yards, why didn't he turn TP loose with his feet. We still had 2 timeouts and our kicker is good for 54-55 yards. Crap, if we had a real OC, we would have had 13-17 points going into half, not 6.

but that's why they're the suckeyes, and not the national champions! :nice:

Our win over Miami following the 2002 season in the BCS title game when we were the only 2 undefeated teams and Miami was the defending champion is a paper title? If so, then yours from last year only has 36 hours left as being real, so enjoy it while you can.
You said titles...plural. You have one. Anything before 1998 is on paper. Not that paper titles can't be claimed because that is how the champ was determined before the BCS.

I see where you're going, so LSU has 2 and Florida is equal to OSU at 1 then and Oklahoma has the same opportunity as U of F at joining LSU in the ranks of 2 time title holders?

There ya go.

There were times in the past where the 1-2's happen to meet in bowl games so those would have been actual championship games. But in the past if say #1 USC played Michigan in the Rose and #2 Alabama played Nebraska in the Sugar and they both won...depending on the quality of win...it would wind up a split title or ring hollow because the 1 and 2 didn't play each other. With all of it's faults at least the BCS attempts to get us a 1-2 match-up every season.

But it's just an attempt. As many years as not, which 2 teams should be playing has been debated as much as who is the true number 1 in the pre-BCS days. This year, you have UT and USC arguing that they were just as good 1 loss teams as OU and UF. One thing hasn't changed for sure, a team from a smaller conference like Utah that runs that table still get's the snub :rlaugh:
