I think my husband's 87 Ttop is beautiful. Was very difficult and long rebuild!

My favorite pic of the car....

You must have hit something pretty hard to bow out those fender like that. Doesn't look like it damage the hood at all.

Yeah we love the ttops also! I've rarely seen another ttop, older ones, but never a 87 and especially an 88, those are super rare! Never see them at the cruise ins...

I've heard that, too. Mine is an '88 T-Top and I read that they actually weren't offered on the option list but built out of leftover '87 bodies. I don't know how true it is, but it seems like I read somewhere that there were less than 300 '88's built. Anyone know for sure?

Here are a couple pics of an 88 T-top Gt I ran across while at a little Ford gathering in Inverness, FL. Was going to try and pull the trigger on this fine lil' specimen but he wouldnt budge off of its 6K pricetag. I was thinking more like $4500.00. Ah well, that's not really why I posted here.

The story I got about the T-top production is that in 87, they completed a full run of t-top cars. They had intended to have another full run in 88 also but the shop they were using to modify the hardtops into t-top models went out of buisness so the production run ended with the last car the shop completed before shutting their doors. Hence, no more aerofox t-top cars. Thats what I heard anyways tho so I thought I would it on......l8r

If Ford did keep production numbers for the t-top cars of ANY year, they have yet to be released to the public. Believe me, I've looked.

The number 281 for 1988 T-Top production was quoted on moddedmustangs.com and one of their members said he saw it in MM&FF, but again, that doesn't make it a carved-in-stone-fact.

All I know is that Ford didn't make the ttop cars themselves, they sent out the foxes to the company who put them in (not sure of the company's name?) in 87 and they only did that in half way through in '88. That's why the '88's are so rare...
