that grey and silver 2 tone is nice as hell, would look sick w/ some black turbines

Nah, I'd leave the turbines silver. That GT is awesome. I love the look with the scoop.

Usually on red cars there is a color difference because the factory did not clearcoat under the hood.

Judging from the pictures of that Saleen, it probably wasn't repainted. It looks very original. Even has the window sticker on it.

This is my 81 Inline 6 coupe with the original brown 2 tone paint job from the factory

Actually, I believe that the top part of your car is "Dark Cordovan Metallic" which is more of a maroon color. My first Mustang was an 82 Coupe painted that color.

You're right, and the lighter brown is bittersweet.
