The Ultimate Cooling Thread

Look guys, I ran several searches, even posted some new threads a while back. There are a lot of questions out there on this topic. For every question I ask, and then get answered, two or three more questions arise.

Right now I'm so confused on what setup to run. Everyone has thier opinions, successes and failures, what I'm looking for and I'm sure a lot of people are, are facts.

Right now I'm running stock cooling on a 325 RWHP car, my goal is eventually 500 RWHP. My temp hovers around 180-185. In traffic maybe 190-195. When the car gets warm after about 15 minutes I lose that "grab you by the balls" feel.

What can I do to maintain that feel and performance all the time? Aluminuim raditator, if so what kind, brand, etc.? Does the stock clutch fan provide for a good cooling solution, if not what king of electric fan setup do I need, single, dual, etc.?

Keep this thread alive guys! Thanks.

There have been so many cooling issue-related threads lately, I'd bet all of your questions are in them if you read.

Alluminium doesn't transfer heat as well as copper, so copper is preferred. Alluminum is basically a weight savings/marketing deal. You're supposed to run at the temps you listed, so that's not a big deal.

Many people do the electric fan swaps w/ SN95 Fans and 3.8L Taurus fans; many also recommend the Delta Current (DC) control unit (see www.dccontrol.com) to regulate the fan(s).

Many also recommend replacing stock guages w/ aftermarket (autometer), to get more accurate readings as the stock guages are often misleading.

The radiator is going to end up being your preference because there are 5 bazillion good radiators that would suffice at your power level. The fans, go with an electric setup. I may try the 3.8 Taurus fan myself on my Monster in creation. You will have to find someone with a setup similar to yours in say somewhere like Texas to get a good example of what to use. You have to decide on what to use from other peoples examples.

I myself am going to use a Be-Cool radiator, and possibly the Taurus 3.8 electric fan and a mezzeire or CSI electric water pump.

Good luck and good hunting!!!!!!!
