So my buddy bought a 91 GT on Friday, and as we're conversing with the owner he says, with a straight face mind you

" I'm gonna let you in on a secret, the easiest way to get 400 hp with this car is a E-303 camshaft, then if you shave the heads you'll get about 430". "

I spit my drink all over the road and had to curl up on the ground because my stomach hurt so much from laughing.

As I tried to tell him he was wrong it'll take alot more than that, he turns around and calls me a moron.

That's why I don't talk to so called "car people" around here anymore. Everyone thinks a 5oh came with 300RWHP from the factory, so their CAI and cammed 302 with flowmasters (e7 heads) should have atleast 360 at the wheels.

Oh, and the people that think a AFR225 headed 427 can be walked by a stock non roller 302 w/ c4's and c6's.

No, no, no. You guys have it all wrong. If you have a carbon fiber E-cam, THEN you will have 400hp.

That only occurs with the Vteque E-303.

You should have gone along with him, but added that while he was right, torque output drops to 105 lb-ft and it only occurs at 8500 RPM.

Yeah, also tell him about how muffler bearings give you 10 solid rwhp. This really is why the GM guys stay pissed at us. The Mustang is and has always been their number 1 rival and when some dip **** spouts off crap like that to them... whether on the net or at a local hangout it really makes US look bad. Dont think for one minute just because they are GM guys that they wont have a clue about how a 5.0 or 4.6 operates. Truth is that every "true" racer will always lowball his or her hp numbers and not even speak of Ets. Its always the "ricer at heart" V8 owners that crow about their stuff...that is until the track humbles them in front of all of their buddies.

Glad your amused.

The point at hand was people bragging to others that have no clue what they are talking about or even ever visited a track.

The reason I put my time in my sig is because I get tired of every one asking me if I have any times on the car.

The true racer line is intended for several of my buddies that wouldnt tell you squat about what they run.

My apollogies if I sound stupid in my comments.
