Okay guys I am getting so close to having her on the road and yet something else will pop up. My ford racing wires get here and they won't work with my distributor cap. Will I be okay using one of the later model style caps that have the male aluminum heads sticking out as opposed to the early style ones.

YES!! Everybody should switch to that type. You can buy them at your local parts store but be sure to get the adapter so it will fit your distributor. Off the top of my head I'd say ask for one for an 85 Mustang with a 5.0.

you will also need the correct style rotor. personally i would look at a 74 torino or something as i think the changed the rotor style an the way it mounts in the distributor shaft sometime in the 80's

yes that is what you need. guess i wrong about the rotor but it wouldn't be the first time i was ever wrong. you don't need anything other than, however if you look around you can get a kit that has brass terminals instead of the aluminum. i think checker and advance usually have them.

Yes, my MSD system has the "male" joint sticking up. Be sure not to put your hand on the exposed section while cranking.....................if you know what I mean!

Yep, especially if you have an aftermarket box. And if you have too, don't get bit by the coil. You WILL see a blue flash infront of your eyes. Really sucks......RICHARD !!

HAHAHAHAHAHA Thanks for the heads up guys. I shocked my friend with the coil on prom night that was a hell of a sight. Fell straight on his ass poor kid. We still laugh about it today even though he was pretty shocked at the moment.
