Well I bought them hope they are not to bad. But for 134 shipped I picked then up. They should go nice with my cheap, heavy ass summit 15' steel rims I got last week, for 84 shipped.

So far I have $218 in my 15" rim and slick combo, I still need 2 tubes and to get them mounted.

I think the wear indicators on my 28x10.5W's showed 16/32's when they were new. It's hard to tell from your picture, but by the looks of it they have 1 maybe 2/32's left....meaning they are pretty much done. Running tubes is a very good idea if they are truly that worn. They look old as well. You can usually tell by how yellow the paint on the M/T is.

A drag slick like these ET Drags has to have way more material than a ET radial or even an ET street because of the much softer compound. The softer compound of the ET Drag will wear much faster and and it needs help maintaining it's shape during higher speeds by way of the thicker rubber.

16/32's is only a half inch of rubber. With the soft compound of an ET Drag, that can be used up very quickly.

that just sounds like a lot of rubber to me. it makes sense b/c of how quickly they wear. 16/32 sounds like a mud tire tread depth to me.

16/32 does sound like alot of tread on a street tire. My tires on my truck only had about 3/4 inch on them and they are made for mud.

Kevin and the orginal thread poster are talking about a drag slick, not a street tire. Yes, 16/32 would be alot on a street tire....but not a slick...which is the type of tire in discussion. 16/32's can go real fast on a slick especially with the M5, M7, and most importantly the M9 compounds.

Jivepepper, are you going to use the 9553 tubes?
