and wished I knew earlier:
Installed my Prochamber today and thought I'd share the experience. Stuff I should have known -
1. An 03 Saleen is considerably lower than a 96 GT and while jackstands work, it's not the optimal situation.
2. Front driver O2 sensor doesn't have enough wire to reach the harness. I thought this was only on 04's. How bad will I run until I get this fixed?
3. Manifold studs are a pain in the rear to remove, even w/ lots of PB Blaster. If you're impatient and try to force one off...
4. When manifold studs give, it's not always a good thing - they can snap clean off.
5. One bolt does not give a good seal on the header to midpipe connection.
6. I don't care who you are or what you drive....an exhaust leak sounds like crap.
7. Trying to drill out a broken stud w/ very little clearance (see #1 above) is a difficult task, if not impossible.
8. An exhaust leak sounds like crap.
So anyway, it's on but with a horrible leak on the drivers side. I'm going to get it on a lift and see if I can't drill it out. Any other creative ways of getting it out? It's broken flush w/ the manifold, so there's nothing to grab. Any words of wisdom or encouragement are really appreciated. Oh yeah -
9. Just because I've installed a prochamber before doesn't make me an expert...
