I also hate O-ring seals on my FPR. No matter how much oil/lube I put in them to mate them up I always cut the rings somehow. I also hate the stock K member on my car. TO date- it has a flat head screw driver and a 1/4" wratchet in it. They aren't coming out. Maybe I should add them to my mods list and include them in the price of the car when I decide to sell it. I am sure they are adding value/HP as we speak.

1) Finding my knuckles grating across my K&N filter EVERY TIME I work on my car... You'd think I'd learn

2) Rusted Bolts = PB Blaster + Hammer

3) WHY IS HALF OF EVERYTHING ON A MUSTANG METRIC (namely #10)

4) Bolts are one size, nuts are another. It takes 12 different wrenches to fix anything suspension wise

5) Anything dealing with coil springs

Strype you just need to get yourself a socket strip or two and make a collection of your most used sockets in 1/4-3/8-1/2 along with the accompanying sockets. That way you don't have to pull out so many sets of sockets or dig through a drawer to find the right ones. If it's a 3/8 socket in any size, you know it's on your 3/8 socket strip...etc.

When I had my cougar, not one bolt was rust free (most of them broke). Even changing spark plugs was hell (took like 6 hours).

So far on the Mustang everything is easy to fix, not many things are breaking either lol...

when fluids run down your arm and into your armpit....when a nut or bolt is rusted inbetween sizes and nothing fits untill you smash one of the cheapy sockets from my junk socket drawer on and hope it turns out...when you go to look up and some leaking fluid or snow or dirt or water drips and always seems to fall right into your ear, eye, mouth...

So I would have to agree 100% with #3. Took my engine out the last day and a half to rebuild it (and put the stuff on in my sig within the next weeks) and I hate the fact that indeed 1/2 the sizes are METRIC!!!! RAHHHH!!!! I'm under the car to loosen what I guestimate to be a 1/2" and is more like a 13mm RAHHHH!!!!!
Love that communication between engineers.

I find it amazing that I could work on a piston engine airplane and never get half as dirty as working on the car. The odd thing about was that when radial engines quit leaking oil, it's because there isn't any oil left in them...

I hate buying a fox you THINK is in good shape only to blow the engine after 1 1/2 months of ownage, then blowing the trans cuz you built a new engine for it that hauls major ass, then finding rust on it and wanting to sell the pos.

I don't mind maintenance or mod projects. It really kills me when new/replacement parts do not fit.

i.e. installing three passenger side motor mounts from autozone, only to find out the bolt holes do not line up. Luckily, for my sanity, the one from NAPA fit.

The k-member is a PITA (I bought a tubular to solve that problem though)... I had to change my starter last weekend but I didn't have to crawl under the car, I just removed the header (had to remove headers anyway to get them blasted and coated).

Now I have to change the damn rear oil seal and pan gasket because my car must NOT leak oil to park at my work

A large pizza box makes an excellent drip pan. Just be sure to take the pizza out first...
