I'm getting tired of this fat SN-95 vert running mid 15's at the track. Its a great car, but I think it'd be better for cruisin around town than regular track use. The thing is I'm totally ignorant about the fox bodies. If I wanted to build a fox just to race what year would be best? I'd most likely replace the drivetrain if thats any help. I'm sure this is one of those personal preference kind of things but any help would be appreciated.

Well...if you're looking for a race only car, an 86-93 coupe would be the ticket. They've got the better brakes and heavier rear end than the earlier fox's and are already set up for EFI. Now, if you could care less about all of that and were going to replace all of the drive train and wanted the lightest version possible, then I'd go with a 79-85.
