I found a guy wanting to sell a mustang rear end, the whole assembly with 3.90s already installed, the ford TL is rebuilt (bearing, seal and all) and has like 1000miles on it.

I had already planned to get gears installed, this is the gear i want, and i was quoted 350 for purchase and installation of 4.10s, i figured a 3.90 installation would be more since the gear is an "oddball" gear

My current TL is busted and needs a rebuild, i can only spin one tire, and i also have a bent axle.

Plus if for some reason i could use my old rearend for gas mileage or something...

I think would be a good buy. This will probably go in with an AOD i am buying, has a 3000rpm stall and a shift kit.

SOund worth it???

not sure what you mean by this:
Plus if for some reason i could use my old rearend for gas mileage or something...
.

Assuming the rear end is in good condition and everything works as it should, that's probably not a bad price. I hope it's a local buy; shipping on a rear end would probably not be cheap and I would then probably not do it.

I do not think that is a good deal. Around here I have seen a complete rear with 3.73s and fresh rebuild go for about $300. I think I would look else where or offer him $300 and work from there. Good Luck

its not a bad deal, but its not great either. i paid $300 for my 5lug disc rearend with 27k miles on it. if you look hard enough..youll find better...but that is the 1st time ive heard of 3.90s in a rear end for sale, id say u should haggle ur way down t below $400 :)
